    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Following a trophyless season, Stefano Pioli decided to resign as Al-Nassr's manager and has already returned to Serie A by joining Fiorentina on a three-year deal. Their hunt for a new manager led them to the recently-sacked ex-Italy boss Spalletti, who was offered an eye-watering €54 million (£46m/$62m) package on a three-year contract. The Scudetto-winning coach, however, turned down the advances from Al-Nassr, with Conceicao now the latest to be linked with the job.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Conceicao was most recently the head coach of AC Milan, but he was relieved of his duties at the end of the season after failing to inspire the Rossoneri to a Champions League spot for the 2025-26 season. Conceicao, a former Portuguese international, is enticed by the idea of reuniting with Ronaldo, with whom he shared the dressing room while playing for Portugal for a couple of games in 2003.

    WHAT NEXT FOR AL-NASSR?

Al-Nassr are expected to invest heavily this summer with the idea of reinforcing the team. Such a project, along with Ronaldo's presence, could convince Conceicao to consider coaching the club next season.
