Alisha Lehmann achieves notable first at Juventus! Swiss star earns Serie A Team of the Week spot after netting second goal of debut season in Italy

The 25-year-old forward moved to Italy alongside Brazilian boyfriend Douglas Luiz during the summer transfer window of 2024 – as they bid farewell to life at Aston Villa in the WSL and Premier League respectively.

Luiz has found the going tough in Turin, with form and fitness issues holding him back, but Lehmann has settled quickly after embracing a fresh start and new challenge. She has had to accept an impact role at times, with many of her appearances coming from off the bench.

She was, however, handed a starting berth in Juve’s latest outing against Sassuolo. They are proving to be a popular opponent for Lehmann, as she opened her competitive goal account against them in September. She was back on target in a 2-2 draw that has preserved the Bianconere’s unbeaten start to the season.

Lehmann produced a composed finish on the hour mark as she latched onto a loose ball at the edge of the box and drilled low into the bottom corner. Wild celebrations were sparked, and the Swiss has now been rewarded with a place in the Serie A Team of the Week.

Lehmann was the only Juve player to get the nod in matchday 10, with her hard work and finishing prowess being recognised. She will hope that said selection is the first of many, with major silverware expected to come up for grabs in 2025.
