Christian Bassogog on target as Henan Jianye bow to Shandong Luneng

Christian Bassogog scored the consolatory goal as Henan Jianye bowed 4-1 to Shandong Luneng in Saturday’s Chinese Super League encounter.

Chang Woe-Ryong’s men suffered their third consecutive defeat to the Team Mount Tai, thus, extending their winless run to seven games, with their last victory dating back to August 4 against Tianjin Quanjian.

The 22-year-old, making his 21st league appearance, scored in the 80th minute.

Junmin Hao put the visitors in front in the second minute and Junshuai Liu doubled the lead in the 36th minute of the contest.

Diego Tardelli notched the third goal for Li Xiaopeng’s men before the Cameroonian found the back of the net for the home team.

Tardelli completed his brace with three minutes left to play to seal the victory for Shandong Luneng.

The defeat condemned Henan Jianye to the bottom two in the league log with a paltry 19 points from 23 games.

Bassogog who has now scored five goals this season will hope his side clinch the maximum points when they host Hebei CFFC on September 29.
