Wilfried Zaha to miss Crystal Palace game against Leicester City

Wilfried Zaha will serve a game suspension when Crystal Palace host Leicester City for their next Premier League game.

The Cote d’Ivoire international received his fifth yellow card of the season at the stoppage time of Saturday’s league contest at the London Stadium.

Zaha who endured torrid time against the Hammers with just a shot in the entire 90 minutes was booked by referee Anthony Taylor for a challenge on Pablo Zabaleta as the Eagles suffered their second consecutive defeat.

The 26-year-old has scored three goals in 14 league matches this campaign for Roy Hodgson's side who are 16th in the Premier League table with two points above the relegation zone.

Moments later before the end of the game, James Tomkins was also cautioned and will also miss the encounter against the Foxes due to the accumulation of five yellow cards.

However, Hodgson, disappointed with his team's result in east London, has rued the absence of the duo for their upcoming league outing as ‘a double whammy’.

"Certainly one of the goals can be contested for the free kick. Tomkins is still so upset by it that after the game he couldn’t resist the temptation to tell the referee again that he had made the wrong decision, he got himself booked and is out of the next game so that was a double whammy, a real double whammy,” Hodgson was quoted by Evening Standard.
