Borussia Dortmund striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is aiming to break Gerd Muller's record in the Bundesliga.
Muller racked up 40 goals in the 1971/1972 season in the German top-flight for Bayern Munich-a record that still stands.
And the Gabon international who scored a hat-trick in the 6-1 demolition of Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday is upbeat of exceeding the mark set by the Ballon d'Or winner.
"We will see. I have a lot of faith in myself, but that record commands respect. What Müller accomplished is extraordinary. Forty goals - wow!" Aubameyang told Bundesliga website.
"To set a mark like that, you have to work very hard and a lot. But if I look at my games, I see the possibility to get even more goals."
The Gabonese will hope to continue his scoring spree when BVB confront Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday,
