Boxing legend Mayweather to meet Premier League champions Leicester City

Floyd Mayweather has asked to meet Premier League champions Leicester City when he visits England on a three-date tour in March.

The former pound-for-pound king is due to visit the cities of Leicester, Liverpool and London next month when he will be interviewed on stage by former cruiserweight world champion Johnny Nelson.

And ‘Money’ is keen to have a chat with the team that made headlines across the world in May last year when he kicks off his tour at the Leicester Athena on March 2, according to promoter Shane Whitfield.

"I spoke to Mayweather's representatives recently and Floyd has told them he wants to meet the Leicester City team," Whitfield told Sky Sports.

"City winning the Premier League really was worldwide news and I'm hoping the players can make it."

Indeed, the Foxes will be hoping for some inspirational words from the boxing legend as they continue to fight against the drop. Only a point separates the reigning champions from the relegation zone.
