Manchester United interested in Newell's sensation Cingolani

Manchester United have registered interest for Newell's Old Boys' teenage sensation Luciano Cingolani, the Argentine club confirmed.

Cingolani is currently starring for the Rosario side's  Septima  (Under-16) team, helping them to four wins in their opening six games.

And while he is a long way off making his first-team bow as of yet, his form has already caught the eye of scouts sent from Old Trafford.

"Manchester United have shown interest in Luciano Cingolani," Newell's academy coordinator Martin Mackey explained to  Zapping Sport

"When they got in touch, we wanted them to say what type of proposal they had in mind and none has reached me.

"When that happens the board of directors will analyse it and will then take the decision they deem necessary. But I do not want him to leave either.

Mackey, however, made it clear that he would oppose any sale of his young gems.

"Whatever the payment is, I don't want the youth players to leave. The first-teamers should be the ones to leave, those are the rules of the game," he added.

"But don't let the youth kids leave. I don't get any of the money that could come in, I work to get the kids into the first team."
