Kenyan Premier League Limited have pointed blame fingers at Football Kenya Federation and Sports Disputes Tribunal following the withdrawal of broadcaster SuperSport.
In their contract termination letter, SuperSport cited a ruling by SDT in January, which declared FKF as the supreme body to run the top league, as the major reason for their exit.
However, KPL have responded to the news accusing the federation for violating their initial agreement and the Sports tribunal for contradicting itself with rulings.
The letter, signed by KPL CEO Jack Oguda and obtained by Goal,links the fallout to the presence of FKF’s new office with Nick Mwendwa as the chairman. It further insinuates that both the league management body and SuperSport were against the expansion of topflight league to 18 teams; a thing KPL feel is another reason for SuperSport’s exit.
FKF have, on the other hand, convened a press briefing event on Saturday to talk about the situation.
