Football Kenya Federation has refuted CAF’s decision to debar three Kenyan players from the U17 Afcon qualifiers
The federation has denied of any wrongdoing, insisting that the players sent to Tanzania for the U-17 qualifiers are within the age bracket as specified by the body.
"All players that were named in the final squad of the Kenya national U17 football team, currently in Tanzania, underwent MRI tests to ascertain whether they were within the required age limit.
"No reason to doubt the eligibility of the....18 selected to represent the country in the U17 tournament.
“The Federation has written to both CAF and the hospital that performed the MRI tests, here, with the aim of not only resolving the same but also ascertaining what caused the discrepancies in the two tests that were meant to serve the same purpose," FKF said in a statement.
Kenya is in Group B alongside Uganda, Ethiopia, South Sudan and Djibouti.
Kenya will kick off her campaign against South Sudan on Tuesday.
