‘A thing of beauty’ - Wrexham fans delighted as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s plans for new temporary stand at SToK Racecourse are revealed

Last week Wrexham announced plans to construct a temporary Kop stand at the SToK Racecourse. On Monday, the club published a photo of the new 2,289 seater stand on X, which Leader Live notes is expected to open on December 23 when fellow Welsh club Newport County come to town.

Wrexham decided to erect a temporary stand after the construction of a new 5,500 seater Kop Stand was delayed. The new stand was meant to be finished in time for the start of next season, but with demand for tickets continuing to surge, owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney decided to provide a temporary solution. The Kop Stand at the Racecourse has been closed since 2008.

On X, Wrexham fans reacted positively to the news. One said: "It's going to be so good to see fans behind that goal again."

Another fan said: "What a day the 23rd will be with that view from the tech end," while another commented, "A thing of beauty, even if temporary."

Wrexham are currently six points behind League Two leaders Stockport County with a game in hand and will look to close the gap when they host Colchester United at the SToK Racecourse on Saturday.
