'He has very strong sperm!' - Wayne Rooney reveals hilariously awkward first encounter between ex-Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal and wife Coleen

Rooney reminisced about his time under Van Gaal at Old Trafford, as he fondly recalled having a good time working alongside the veteran Dutch coach. He also recounted the time when Van Gaal met his wife Coleen for the first time and shared a hilariously awkward conversation. 

On The Wayne Rooney show, the 39-year-old said: "I loved him, he was so funny. The first time we met Coleen we had, like, a lunch and all the players, the players' wives, girlfriends, all the staff were there. And then he come up to Coleen - first ever time he's met her - and he went to her, "Your children, they look very much like the father." And she was like, "Yeah." And he went, "He has very strong sperm!". That was first time he met her."

Rooney then added: "She was like, "Err....". Yes, just move on! I really liked him as a person, different and funny but as a coach I learned probably more from him than anyone else."

Van Gaal, who won multiple trophies in the Netherlands, Spain and Germany, took charge of United ahead of the 2014-15 campaign. He was the second head coach at Old Trafford in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, following David Moyes. Despite his reputation, the Dutchman did not have much success and his spell ended in the summer of 2016 after the Red Devils won the FA Cup.

Ruben Amorim's side, who finally registered their maiden Premier League win over Burnley, will now face rivals Manchester City on September 14.
