Taylor Booth the next American star in the Eredivisie! USMNT prospect nets brace for FC Utrecht against Fortuna Sittard - one week after first professional hat-trick

After a brilliant showing against FC Volendam the week prior, where he net a hat-trick en route to a 4-2 victory, Booth followed it up with another stupendous performance Sunday. The winger scored the first and third goals for Utrecht in their 4-0 win over Fortuna Sittard to push them up to ninth in the Eredivisie standings.

Booth, who is just 22-years-old, could be the next breakout American in the Dutch Eredivisie this season. The PSV trio of Malik Tillman, Sergino Dest and Ricardo Pepi have stole the headlines of late, but now, Booth appears to be fighting for the limelight too.

His performances at the club level are surely catching the eyes of Gregg Berhalter and his staff, too, with the USMNT on the verge of three major tournaments this calendar year. Up first is the Concacaf Nations League in March, which will be followed by this summer's Copa America and the Paris Olympic Games.

For Booth, the most likely should would be this summer's Olympic Games, especially with the roster rules being U-23. Head coach Marko Mitrovic could look to include him on his March roster for a U-23 clash against Thierry Henry's France in a warmup match for the Paris Games.

Booth joined Bayern Munich's system in 2020, playing for their second team, while only making one first-team appearance in his two-year stint at the club.

The Dutch club are back in action against FC Twente next Sunday as they look to continue their climb up the league standings. They sit one-point out of a playoff spot for Europe at the moment.
