Despite the heartbreak, Shakira remains resilient and focused on her music career. Her long-awaited 12th album, "Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran," was released recently, marking her return to the music scene. The Colombian singer emphasised that the thought of growing old alone does not upset her, as she cherishes the support of her friends during the darkest moments of her life.
"I've always been in a couple, but then when that wasn't there, and when I had to face the darkest moments of my life, friends were there and kept me together. I might not grow old with a partner, but I will grow old surrounded by good friends," she added.
Shakira's relationship with Pique was not without its challenges, as she revealed feeling "dragged down" during their time together. Following their split, she has redirected her energy towards her music and creative endeavours which has helped her bloom once again.
