Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney to wield axe? Phil Parkison told when he could ‘lose his job’ as Wrexham sit just above the Championship relegation zone
Phil Parkinson has been told when he could “lose his job” at Wrexham, with there already talk of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney preparing to wield the axe. Speculation regarding a change in the dugout at SToK Racecourse has surfaced following a slow start to the 2025-26 campaign that sees the Red Dragons perched just outside the Championship relegation zone.
Ex-Wrexham manager Dean Saunders told WDW Bingo of the sack rumours: “If they don’t improve soon, Parkinson will lose his job, and that’s the reality of football, especially at such an ambitious club. It’s easy spending the money, it’s getting results after you have spent the money that is the difficult part. The squad needs a little bit more time to be allowed to gel before we can expect better performances and results from them. But you don’t always get time in football.”
Wrexham schedule: Next up for Parkinson's side
Wrexham, who know that a couple of positive results will see them rise quickly up the Championship table, will be back in action on Saturday when taking in a trip to Norwich - with in-form USMNT striker Josh Sargent needing to be contained in order to get anything out of a visit to Carrow Road.
