Amorim's side beat Fulham 1-0 on Sunday in the Premier League in a game which saw Rashford once again left out of the United squad. The United boss was asked about the forward's continued exclusion from his plans after the match and had some explosive comments about the 27-year-old.

    WHAT AMORIM SAID

He told reporters: "The reason is the training, the way I see what footballers should do in training, in life. It’s every day, every detail. So if things don’t change, I will not change."

Amorim then suggested he would rather play United's 63-year-old goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital than Rashford unless something changes, adding: "I prefer it like that. I will put (Jorge) Vital on than a player that don’t give the maximum every day. So I will not change in that department."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

These Amorim comments are in sharp contrast to when the 39-year-old said United are "better with Rashford" in the team last month, as his wait for a first-team appearance stretches to six weeks. This may hasten an Old Trafford exit for the England international.

Time is running out for Rashford to seal a United exit, however, as the winter transfer window shuts on February 3.
