Spartak released an official statement confirming Promes' exit via their website. The Russian Premier League club have, however, also left the door open for the 32-year-old to return to the club at some point in the future.
"Quincy Promes missed the entire second half of the season due to personal reasons that prevented him from returning to Russia after the winter training camp in the UAE," the statement reads. "Unfortunately, these circumstances are still in force, and it is not possible to talk about Quincy resuming his performance at the club at this stage. At the same time, our club hopes that in the future the parties will be able to return to this issue. In total, Quincy played 235 matches for our team, in which he scored 114 goals - today this is the 6th result in the history of the club."
