    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mudryk has already lost his No.10 shirt to Cole Palmer at Chelsea and looks set for a lengthy time out of the game. The Ukraine star has previously said the positive test "came as a complete shock" and that he did not "knowingly use any banned substances or broke any rules". Mudryk has since employed the same legal firm as Paul Pogba to help him with his case. Pogba saw his four-year doping ban reduced to 18 months on appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

    WHAT NEXT FOR MUDRYK?

Mudryk joined Chelsea for £89 million ($121m) in January 2023 but struggled to live up to his hefty price tag and it now remains to be seen if or when he will play for the Blues again. The 24-year-old must wait to discover the outcome after being charged but is facing a potentially lengthy ban from all forms of football.
