WATCH: Musicians JID and Metro Boomin take center stage in Atlanta United win over Orlando City

Atlanta United continued their tradition of incorporating Atlanta's cultural icons into matchday experiences by hosting acclaimed rapper JID and producer Metro Boomin as special guests for their Eastern Conference clash against Orlando City.

JID participated in the club's signature Golden Spike ceremony, where he hammered the railroad spike that had been signed by players and supporters while fans rhythmically chanted "A-T-L" with each strike.

The ritual, which pays homage to Atlanta's history as a railroad hub, included JID energizing the crowd before kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Not only that, both musicians were given personalized Atlanta United kits before kick-off alongside other goodies.

Atlanta United has leveraged local celebrity involvement to distinguish themselves in Major League Soccer, with the Golden Spike tradition serving as the centerpiece of this strategy.

Following back-to-back-to-back home games, Atlanta United face six consecutive road trips, starting with a contest against New York Red Bulls on May 31. That is followed by visits to New York City FC on June 12, Columbus Crew on June 25, Inter Miami on June 28, DC United on July 5 and finally Toronto FC on July 12.
