The management of Barcelona continues to make unwanted headlines despite club president Laporta's confidence of being able to lead the Catalans to a prosperous future after taking over from former Josep Maria Bartomeu, who was voted out by Barca members and left the club in financial turmoil. However, Laporta has struggled to live up to his many promises, and the Blaugrana's latest troubles come in the form of player registrations. Summer signing <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/barcelona-la-liga-release-statements-confusing-dani-olmo-transfer-saga-extension-registration-deadline-free-agency-threat/blt23ecb955b8dd345f" target="_blank">Olmo and Pau Victor are both currently unregistered</a> and unable to play in the second half of the season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Barcelona group Som un Clam's president Joan Camprubi Montal has voiced his opinion over the trouble that Laporta has led Barcelona into and asked for the 62-year-old and the club board to resign in a letter published on social media.The letter read: "From Som un Clam we want to express our total indignation and shame caused by the management of President Joan Laporta and the board of directors regarding the registrations of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, and we demand his resignation. What we have experienced in the last hours of 2024 shows that the vicious circle in which the club's governing team has entered has fully exploded. Sooner than even imaginable, amateur and erratic management is beginning to affect the sporting performance of the first team, which could be deprived of two of its signings."Given this situation, Som un Clam insists that the vicious circle we have entered due to the management of the board endangers the assets of our club and its ownership model. For this reason, we call for the resignation of the president and the board of directors, while we call on Barcelona fans to mobilise , reverse this situation and make their voice heard."At 'Som un Clam' we also want to show our solidarity with the players involved and express our support for Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor in these difficult times. We need their talent and commitment to face the sporting challenges of the first team with stability."

It's a sentiment shared by Barcelona fans who have been generally supportive of Laporta's situation at Camp Nou as he dealt with a difficult mess left by Bartomeu but are now turning on the 62-year-old.On X, @JohnHonesty__ wrote: "When I told them Laporta is worse than Bartomeu, they laughed. At least Bartomeu isn't a demagogue who sold the club's future income for short-term gains and to live a couple of moments as a hero. Olmo is ready to stay with Barcelona, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/dani-olmo-barcelona-spain-agent-amid-barca-contract-chaos-january-transfer-interest/blta4391e3b0fc839fa" target="_blank">according to his agent</a>, even if he is not re-registered but may have to spend the rest of the season on the sidelines. The <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/dani-olmo-registration-crisis-barcelona-losing-gbp218-million-la-liga-playmaker-january/blt93a776226a097293#cs068f21e10c1a480a" target="_blank">club could potentially lose a massive&nbsp;£218 million ($343m)</a> in total due to the saga but are still holding out hope the two players can be registered after agreeing a deal to sell off VIP boxes at the renovated Camp Nou.
