Legendary sports announcer Joe Buck receives warm welcome from St Louis CITY fans ahead of MLS match against Columbus Crew

Joe Buck, the Emmy Award-winning sportscaster and St. Louis native, was invited to participate in St. Louis CITY SC's pre-match festivities over the weekend. Buck took center stage to hit the drum, a cherished tradition that signals the start of the game, much to the delight of the packed Energizer Park crowd.

The legendary broadcaster was present with his equally famous sports broadcaster wife Michelle Beisner-Buck and their children, and was honored prior to kickoff.

St. Louis City SC's inaugural season has been marked by strong community engagement and a celebration of the city's rich sports history. Buck's involvement in the pre-match ceremony is part of a broader effort to integrate local sports legends into the club's culture.

A tough 2-1 loss to Columbus Crew at home meant that St. Louis has dropped to 12th place in the Western Conference, with just eight points from as many games. They host conference leaders Vancouver Whitecaps next on April 19 followed by an away clash against LAFC on April 27.
