    La Liga giants Barca have teamed up with MatchWornShirt, the world’s largest memorabilia platform, to raise funds for the ongoing relief efforts that are helping those affected by the devastating floods that hit Valencia in November 2024.

    As part of that project, a number of shirts donned during Barcelona’s derby date with Catalan neighbours Espanyol were made available to the public. Live bidding ran through to January 19, with Yamal’s No.19 jersey proving to be the most popular.

    The 17-year-old forward’s top eventually went for £27,142. The shirt worn by Polish striker Robert Lewandowski in a game that Barcelona won 3-1 raised £14,233. Those numbers are impressive, but are dwarfed by record deals involving Ballon d’Or winners Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
