Kylian Mbappe ‘hungry for more’ after collecting first Golden Boot – with Real Madrid ‘Galactico’ ready to terrorise Champions League defences

The World Cup-winning France international shared that honour with prolific Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane in 2023-24, with both men finding the target in elite European competition on eight occasions. Mbappe’s impressive haul came while still on the books of Paris Saint-Germain.

He has since completed a switch to Real Madrid, becoming the latest ‘Galactico’ addition at Santiago Bernabeu. Mbappe has linked up with the Blancos in a bid to end his personal wait for Champions League glory – with that prize having eluded him in Paris.

Mbappe is raring to go again in continental competition, with Real set to open the defence of their crown against Stuttgart on Tuesday. Their new No.9 has another trophy for his collection, posting on social media after being presented with his award: “Always hungry for more. @realmadrid. Thanks also to my former teammates and staff from @psg.”

Mbappe has already been among the goals for the Blancos, having opened his account in their UEFA Super Cup win over Atalanta. He also has three efforts in La Liga to his name and will be looking to add to a Champions League tally that stands at 48 efforts through 73 appearances.
