  • WHAT GORRY SAID

"Today as we pull up to the stadium Harper is sick all over the back seat," Gorry wrote on Instagam. "We drove straight back home to bath her and put her to bed. I somehow made it back for warm up. West Ham are built differently. Every player and staff member got behind me so I could still do my job and then get back home to my girl. There's something special about this club and I'm so incredibly grateful to be a part of it."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Gorry was one of the stand-out signings made by West Ham in the January window, alongside United States women's national team star Kristie Mewis. However, the Hammers didn't even need to bring Mewis off the bench on Sunday as they secured three points against the Gunners for the first time, dealing a huge blow to the north London side's Women's Super League title hopes in the process.

While mothers in the WSL are rare, Gorry's team-mate Dagny Brynjarsdottir is another player in the West Ham squad who has to juggle parenting duties with her playing career. In fact, the Iceland international announced in August that she was expecting a second child and is currently unavailable for selection as a result.

WHAT NEXT FOR GORRY AND WEST HAM?

Gorry and West Ham are back in action on February 18, when they take on fellow WSL strugglers Everton, who are currently just a place below the Hammers in 10th due to their inferior goals scored record.
