THE BIGGER PICTURE
The 19-year-old Turkish wonderkid snubbed Barcelona in favour of a move to Los Blancos last summer, but his maiden season at Santiago Bernabeu did not go as planned as he was injured for the majority of the 2023-24 campaign. However, the midfielder did manage to score six times in the 10 La Liga appearances he made for the club. In the current campaign, he has fallen in the midfield pecking order having clocked just 291 minutes on the pitch.
