USA beat Canada to win SheBelieves Cup
Interim boss Kilgore goes out on a high
Sends message to incoming coach Hayes
WHAT HAPPENED?
The U.S. won their fifth straight SheBelieves Cup after a 5-4 penalty shootout win over Canada following a 2-2 draw in 90 minutes. Emily Fox scored the decisive goal after Alyssa Naeher made three spotkick saves as interim coach Kilgore ended her tenure on a high. Now, the 44-year-old has sent a message to incoming boss, and current Chelsea manager, Hayes - who is set to take over before a double-header against South Korea in June.

WHAT TWIGA KILGORE SAID
She said, via journalist Justin Ruderman: "At this point, I would be on her [Hayes'] schedule because I am no longer in the head coaching position. She's got a job to do and I will help support from afar so that that transition can happen smoothly."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The U.S. have been the dominant women's team for much of this century but their round of 16 loss to Sweden at last year's World Cup was their earliest exit from the competition since 1991. Under Hayes, they will try and reassert their dominance and Kilgore could be a big part of working towards that goal as she's set to stay on as an assistant coach.
