  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Kane moved to Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 in a bid to win the first major silverware of his professional career. He had an excellent outing in his maiden campaign in Germany having won several individual awards including the Golden Boot, however, Bayern went trophyless as Bayer Leverkusen historically won the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal, while RB Leipzig clinched the German Super Cup, beating the Bavarian side 3-0.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After the 2023-24 campaign, a Kane-led England reached the final of the European Championship for the second time in a row but they once again faced defeat as Spain lifted the trophy. In the 2024-25 campaign, Bayern were eliminated from the DFB Pokal after they went down against the reigning champions in December. However, the England captain can remain hopeful of winning the league as they lead the title race by one point and with a game in hand.

  • WHAT HARRY KANE SAID

Speaking to France Football, the 31-year-old said: "It’s true that, so far, I won individual accomplishments as a top scorer or best player”, Kane said. “I start every season with the goal to win a trophy and I am not satisfied with being distinguished only on an individual level."

He added: "I’m only 31. I think the best Harry Kane is yet to come. I’m very confident about this, and very confident that the second part of my career, the one which is now beginning, will be rich in major trophies. And when I hang up my boots, it will no longer be a topic."
