  • WHAT BAYERN SAID

FC Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said in an official statement: “Bryan Zaragoza is a strong, very fast and extremely agile winger who can be used on both sides. He is unpredictable, dangerous and very good in one-on-one situations. He has already made his debut for the Spanish senior national team this year and has a lot of potential. Bryan is one of the hotshots in Spain and has been on our radar for a long time. He will expand our offensive options. We wish him every success with Granada FC for the rest of the season and look forward to him joining us in the summer.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Freund was pushing for the deal for a very long time and has managed to beat competition from RB Leipzig to seal Zaragoza's services.Amid speculation over Thomas Muller's future at the club, with his contract set to expire in 2024, Zaragoza's arrival will surely bolster Thomas Tuchel's squad and give top scorer Kane even more backup in the final third. He will, however, remain at Granada on loan until the end of the season.
