  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Foden was impressive as City tore Ipswich apart at Portman Road, winning 6-0, to continue their resurgence and move back into the top four. Last season's PFA Player of the Year has struggled to reach the same lofty standards this campaign and had been unable to stop the rut City found themselves in. But, with five goals in his last three Premier League games, Foden looks back on track.

    WHAT GUARDIOLA SAID

Praising his star player, Guardiola said after the game: "We spoke many times the last month, and he was a completely different boy to how he arrived at the beginning of the season. He had a few problems, but they are human beings and sometimes when you have a setback and that is normal.

“But we are really pleased that he is happy again and enjoying playing, and that is really good for all of us.”

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Foden has hit five goals in his last three Premier League games, having previously found the net just once in the 2024-25 campaign. Despite this recent uptick in form, he is still a long way off his tally from last season, where he scored 19 goals and registered eight assists. It has been a mixed past six months for Foden after a difficult European Championships with England; the midfielder had been given a break by City at the start of the campaign but struggled to stamp his authority when he returned.

City will be aiming to seal qualification for the knockout stages in the French capital. Next weekend, City host Chelsea in an intriguing contest between two sides fighting for a top-four berth in the Premier League.
