- Reyna comes on as substitute
- USMNT star recently joined Forest on loan
- Turner left on bench
GettyGio Reyna makes his Premier League debut! USMNT star shows his class off the bench in Nottingham Forest's draw with Bournemouth as concern grows for Matt Turner
GettyWHAT HAPPENED?
Bournemouth didn't waste any time seemingly piling on a Forest side that has lost back-to-back Premier League games, scoring just five minutes into Sunday's clash. The goal came from Justin Kluivert, who gave the hosts a massive advantage early on at the Vitality Stadium with a close-range tap-in.
Just before halftime, though, Forest got their goal. It was a fantastic finish, to their credit, from Callum Hudson-Odoi, who curled home in the 45th minute to level the score at one apiece.
Forest were given a chance to steal the points late when Phillip Billing was sent off in the 84th minute, but the visitors couldn't quite muster the goal they needed to seal all three points, instead settling for just one in the end.
THE BIGGER PICTURE
The point will do just fine for Forest, who move two points clear of the relegation zone as a result. As things stand, there's something of a battle coming for that final relegation spot, with five teams within five points of that unwanted 17th place.
Bournemouth, who remain without Tyler Adams, are somewhat comfortable, though, as they sit 12th, eight points above that red line.
GettyUSMNT IMPACT
Neither Reyna nor Matt Turner were in the Nottingham Forest XI, although there will be varying concern levels for those two situations.
In Reyna's case, the club is clearly looking to ease him in, having just signed him a matter of days ago. Reyna was the club's second substitution and first in the attacking third of the field, replacing Anthony Elanga in the 78th minute.
Turner, meanwhile, has all but certainly lost his starting job. A series of disastrous mistakes from Turner led to a big move from Forest, who went out and signed a new goalkeeper in Matz Sels. The Belgian shot-stopper started Sunday's match, indicating that Turner's time as the No.1 has come to an end.
GOAL'S RATINGS
Gio Reyna (6/10):
Couldn't quite impact the game, but he definitely showed signs. Looked comfortable and graceful on the ball while completing 17 of his 19 passes and winning all four of his duels.
Matt Turner (N/A):
Started the match on the bench, indicating that he's officially Forest's No. 2. What's next for the USMNT starter? It'll be a talking point for the next few months, for sure.

There won't be much time to rest for Forest, who must turn around quickly for an upcoming FA Cup replay. Forest are set to play host to Bristol City on Wednesday after the two sides played to a scoreless stalemate on January 26. After that, Forest face a tough match against Newcastle on Saturday as they continue to fight for Premier League survival.
