WHAT HAPPENED?
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Ronaldo appears to be training hard ahead of his side's last game of the year on December 30. Second-placed Al-Nassr travel to fourth-positioned Al-Taawoun, looking to cut the gap to league leaders Al-Hilal - who have a seven-point lead. Ahead of that match, Ronaldo has shown the remarkable shape he is in a couple of months before he turns 39.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
The Portuguese international has scored a whopping 53 goals for the year, outgunning Bayern Munich's Harry Kane and Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe by one goal and he is three ahead of Manchester City's Erling Haaland (50). While the standard of the league is not as high as those in Europe, Ronaldo is still a scoring machine in the twilight years of his career.
