Cops to spray football hooligans with invisible mist that marks skin for months

Per The Sun, police are set to spray football hooligans with a so-called DNA tagging spray that is designed to mark clothing and skin for months. The end goal is for police to find it more straightforward to link hooligans with their crime. 

Cheshire constabulary are one of the first police forces in the country to institute the policy of using the spray. It will be featured at all League Two matches this season amid rising reports of fan disorder. It was first used during Crewe Alexandra's clash with Port Vale earlier this year. 

The first game of the season to use the spray will see Crewe face Accrington Stanley and cops will be equipped with the DNA spray. It contains a unique DNA code that will not damage clothing, but will mark it for a significant period of time. 

Cops will hope that League Two games are prone to far less disorder this season as they trial their new policy.
