  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    The U.S. trio were involved in Thursday's draw for the first edition of the tournament, which will kick-off in August 2024 and be played through to May 2025. NWSL champions Gotham will take on two Mexican giants in the first round, in Tigres and Monterrey, while 2023 Shield winners San Diego will face Portland in Group B.

    The exact start date of the tournament has yet to be announced, with the three NWSL sides hoping it comes in late August to give their Olympic representatives time to return and recover. All will have players at the women's football tournament at the Games in Paris, which runs from July 25 to August 10.
