    WHAT HAPPENED?

Pulisic's big moment came in the 40th minute as he scored on an assist from Noah Okafor. Milan had rotated a bit following their midweek Europa League win over Sparta Prague but, much like in that match, Pulisic got on the scoresheet to help lead the way.

On the end of a cutback from Okafor, Pulisic fired first time, but needed a bit of luck to get his goal. His shot deflected off Sebastiano Luperto, who was unable to divert the shot away from goal as Pulisic's effort trickled into the back of the net.

After a lengthy VAR review to look at a possible offside from Okafor in the buildup, the goal was given, and it proved to be the only one Milan would need to seal all three points.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The win continues Milan's good form in Serie A, having gotten seven of the last nine available points. The Rossoneri, though, have had a bit of trouble scoring goals in the league in recent weeks.

Milan have scored just six goals in their last five Serie A matches but, at least so far, they haven't been punished too badly. During that stretch, they've won three, drawn with Atalanta and lost to Monza, although, at this point, it matters little with the Scudetto almost certainly out of reach.

Even with Sunday's win, Milan remain 16 points behind league-leaders Inter with just 10 matches remaining in the Serie A season.

    USMNT IMPACT

Pulisic continues to play like a star for Miilan, having now scored in a second consecutive match. He was a bit fortunate on both goals, more so on the midweek tip-in of a Rafael Leao shot against Sparta Prague, but they all count, don't they?

Pulisic has now been involved in 14 goals in Serie A, having scored eight and assisted a further six. That's the highest single-season tally of his senior career, and the U.S. men's national team star still has plenty of time to add to those stats before the season comes to a close.

The USMNT winger wasn't the only American to get into the match, though, as Yunus Musah came on as a second-half sub, replacing Tijani Reijnders in the 63rd minute to add a bit of life to the Milan midfield as they looked to close the game out.

    GOAL'S RATINGS

    Christian Pulisic (8/10):

Scored another crucial goal. Will feel plenty of confidence as the U.S. looks ahead to the upcoming Nations League.

    Yunus Musah (6/10):

Got on the ball a bit, but never quite did anything spectacular. Was stable enough to help guide Milan to three points, though.

    WHAT COMES NEXT?

Milan will now turn their focus back to the Europa League, where they'll head to the Czech Republic to face Slavia Prague in the second leg of their round of 16 clash. Milan won the first leg, 4-2, giving them a big advantage heading into Thursday's rematch.
