'I don’t think we could’ve got a better draw' - Callum McManaman explains how Wigan can get the better of Man Utd in huge FA Cup tie

McManaman, who won the Man of the Match award 11 years back when Wigan last won the FA Cup trophy by beating Manchester City in the final, revealed how the Latics are planning to get the better of United when the two sides meet on Monday.

Ahead of the important FA Cup clash, the veteran winger told reporters: "All the lads are buzzing. The atmosphere around the place is really good. I don’t think we could’ve got a better draw, to be honest. We’ve got nothing to lose. We just need to go out there, express ourselves and be confident."

After ending 2023 on a disastrous note that saw them lose five out of the eight matches they played in December across all competitions, the Red Devils will hope to begin the new year with a win and progress to the next round of the competition. Shaun Maloney's Wigan side are also struggling in League One as they are currently 18th in the league, four points above the relegation zone.

After facing the third-tier side on Monday, Erik ten Hag's side will start preparing for their first Premier League game of 2024, which is against an in-form Tottenham team next Sunday.
