Birmingham City confirm documentary starring Tom Brady! NFL legend features in Amazon Prime series that will rival Welcome to Wrexham

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have opened up a window to the world with ‘Welcome to Wrexham’, allowing an ambitious project in North Wales to attract global attention. The Red Dragons have been competing alongside Brady and Co in 2024-25.

On the back of a record-breaking spending spree in the summer of 2024, Birmingham were always expected to yo-yo into the Championship - having tumbled out of that division on the back of some questionable decisions, including hiring Wayne Rooney as manager.

With Chris Davies at the helm, the Blues blazed a trail through League One - quickly making their way to the top of the table before confirming promotion in early April. All of the drama has been caught on camera, with a "behind-the-scenes documentary to launch on Prime Video worldwide in summer 2025."

A statement from the Blues on the club's official website added: "Embedded camera crews have followed the first-team players, coaching staff and key ownership figures from pre-season to promotion, including Birmingham City’s Chairman Tom Wagner, Co-Founder and Co-Managing Member of Knighthead Capital Management, LLC, and American football legend, Tom Brady, as the club fights to instil a winning culture and climb the English football pyramid.

"Beyond the day-to-day football operations, the documentary will also explore the unique cultural heritage of Birmingham City and a supporter base who have remained loyal despite a sustained period without success or silverware. The documentary will shine a spotlight on this community’s resurgence, illustrating how the football club plans to drive its transformation."

Star turns such as £15 million ($19m) record signing Jay Stansfield and fellow frontman Alfie May will figure prominently in the production. Streaming giants Amazon have previously delivered documentaries, including the ‘All or Nothing’ series, for Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Leeds United.
