Arne Slot sends 'top five' transfer message with specific praise of Matheus Cunha as Liverpool prepare to host struggling Wolves

Slot's head has finally cooled enough from the Merseyside derby to shift his attention to Liverpool's clash against Wolves on Sunday and one player in particular. The Dutchman raved about Cunha and his quality ahead of the match, suggesting that the Brazilian should be playing for one of the top five teams in the country.

Speaking ahead of the match, Slot said: "Matheus Cunha is a quality player and he has the quality to play for one of the top five teams in England. If you go to the Dutch league and look at the team in 17th place, there is no player who could play for Ajax, PSV or Feyenoord".

Cunha has managed an impressive 11 goals in 23 Premier League appearances this season for a Wolves side sitting 17th in the table. He has already been linked to teams higher up the division and is said to be available for around £62 million ($78m).

Liverpool are one of the clubs said to be interested in purchasing Cunha this summer and the Brazil star can use Sunday's game as an audition for the title favourites.
