  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Just days after moving into a new luxury house in Corbetta, Morata has been forced to vacate the property 20 miles west of Milan thanks to the mayor putting his security at risk. Marco Ballarini celebrated the arrival of the 31-year-old to his town, which only has a population of around 18,000. Clearly furious, Morata has taken to Instagram to vent his frustrations at being made to leave.

  • WHAT MORATA SAID

On his Instagram story, Morata said: "Dear Mr Mayor, thanks for violating my privacy. Thankfully I don't have anything of value. The only treasures I have are my children, whose security has been jeopardised by you. I thought that the town of Corbetta could afford me a certain amount of privacy. Instead, I find myself having to move house straight away, thanks to your inabilities to use social media and to safeguard your citizens.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Morata publicly split from his wife Alice over the summer and the one thing he would have wanted is some privacy for himself and his kids. Being famous is part of the package when it comes to being an elite footballer but everyone should be entitled to their own space.
