L'Union Saint Jean Overview

Andy Robertson celebrated a historic milestone by becoming only the second man to reach a century of caps for Scotland in Saturday's Nations League victory. The Tartan Army captain led his team to a vital 2-0 win away against North Macedonia, handing manager Sebastien Pocognoli his maiden triumph since taking charge of the national team.

Sebastien Pocognoli is determined to secure his first triumph in charge of Scotland to inject much-needed belief into his stuttering squad. A scoreless stalemate against Slovenia and a heavy home loss to Switzerland have ramped up scrutiny, leaving the Belgian manager desperate for three points on Saturday to arrest a concerning goalscoring drought.

Switzerland have been rocked by further controversy after Breel Embolo became the second high-profile star to be removed from their Nations League squad. The Atlanta United forward follows captain Granit Xhaka in withdrawing from international duty due to ongoing legal issues regarding forged COVID-19 certificates.

Granit Xhaka has officially withdrawn from the Switzerland national team squad after admitting to the fraudulent acquisition of a Covid-19 vaccination certificate. The Sunderland captain, who was playing for Arsenal at the time of the incident in 2022, described the decision as a "mistake" and will now face a legal inquiry in his homeland.
