Manchester United news

The 2025-26 European season is almost in the books. Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain will face off in Saturday's Champions League final after both secured league titles in England and France, respectively, while there was joy for Bayern Munich in Germany and Inter in Italy as both won domestic doubles. Rounding out the 'Big Five' leagues, Barcelona successfully defended their crown in La Liga as Real Madrid tailed off in chaotic circumstances.

Chelsea are facing severe financial pressures this summer, and new manager Xabi Alonso might need to sacrifice top talent to fund his desired signings. With Manchester United reportedly interested, the Blues have set a massive asking price for Cole Palmer. Any potential suitors have been told the exact figure required just to begin negotiations for the talented playmaker.

Angel Di Maria has lifted the lid on his disastrous spell at Manchester United, admitting that a toxic combination of tactical disagreements and personal trauma led him to "hate" his time at Old Trafford. Despite arriving as a British-record signing with the weight of the iconic No.7 shirt on his back, the Argentine’s stay in the Premier League lasted just one miserable season.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes appeared to have written his name into the Premier League history books on the final day of the season against Brighton. However, his milestone 21st assist has been met with fierce scrutiny from a former officiating chief who claims the record remains intact.

Manchester City are currently leading rivals Manchester United in the intense race to sign Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson. A potential transfer could break the record for a British player, eclipsing the £105 million ($141m) fee Arsenal paid for Declan Rice. With a fine World Cup coming up, Forest are preparing for a massive summer departure despite their desire to retain him.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged his former club to sign Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski on a free transfer this summer. With Michael Carrick now permanently in charge and preparing for Champions League football, Ferdinand believes the prolific veteran would be the perfect mentor for Benjamin Sesko as the Red Devils look to bolster their attacking options.

Pep Guardiola explicitly showed a clip of Bruno Fernandes complaining to his Manchester City squad to clearly demonstrate unacceptable on-pitch behaviour. As the manager prepares to depart after a historic decade, this strict demand for unity explains the elite culture that secured 20 trophies and successfully prevented toxic friction within the team.

Arsenal are pushing hard to sign Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, with Mikel Arteta reportedly taking personal control of the pursuit. Chelsea and Manchester United are also monitoring the England international, while the Villans are expected to demand a huge fee.

Slovenia manager Bostjan Cesar has questioned why Benjamin Sesko repeatedly misses international duty while remaining available for Manchester United. The striker has not played for his country since October despite featuring heavily for the Red Devils this season.

Barcelona are preparing fresh talks with Manchester United over a permanent deal for Marcus Rashford after agreeing personal terms with the England forward. Hansi Flick views Rashford as a key part of his attacking plans, but United remain firm on their €30 million (£26m) valuation.

Bruno Fernandes has revealed he came “very close” to joining Tottenham before eventually signing for Manchester United in 2020. The Portugal international also addressed recent criticism from Roy Keane during a candid podcast appearance.

The 2025-26 Premier League season is over, with top-flight players around England making their plans for the summer, whether they involve holidays or, for the lucky few, a chance to put on a show at the World Cup. Even those internationals will get the chance to switch off at some stage, but for their managers, the work never stops, with plans likely already being drawn up for the transfer window and next season.

Roy Keane has intensified his public war of words with Bruno Fernandes by posting a stinging message on social media. The Manchester United legend appears to have responded directly to the Portuguese midfielder’s claims that he had been dishonest in his assessment of the player's recent performances.
