Polokwane City Overview

Manchester City have secured the return of former academy goalkeeper Pierce Charles after agreeing a £10 million package with Sheffield Wednesday. The Northern Ireland international has put pen to paper on a long-term contract at the Etihad Stadium, but he will spend the upcoming campaign on loan in the Championship with Queens Park Rangers.

Sheffield Wednesday have avoided a major sporting setback after the EFL confirmed their expected 15-point deduction will not be applied. The decision comes following a takeover led by American businessman David Storch, offering the relegated Owls a fresh start in League One.

Emile Heskey has revealed to GOAL that his son Jaden is enjoying “getting battered” during a spell at Sheffield Wednesday, with England U18 star Reigan next in line for a loan transfer away from Manchester City. Ex-Liverpool striker Heskey is playing the role of proud father as his children seek to forge their own career in the professional game, with senior football required in order to complete that process.

Kalvin Phillips was shown a straight red card on Sunday for a shocking challenge in the Steel City Derby. The Manchester City midfielder, who moved on loan to Championship side Sheffield United at the end of the January transfer window, was handed his marching orders early in the second half following a poor challenge on midfielder Svante Ingelsson.
