'You need counselling!' - Ange Postecoglou takes aim at suggestions Tottenham will roll over against Man City to deny rivals Arsenal the Premier League title

Manchester City will take on Postecoglou's side in a midweek fixture that could potentially decide this season's Premier League title winners. City sit one point behind Arsenal with one game in hand, the clash at Tottenham Stadium. If Spurs manage to take points off Pep Guardiola's side, the Gunners would sit in the driver's seat. However, suggestions have been made that Spurs could roll over for the defending champions to deny Arsenal their first league title in 20 years. The suggestions have been vigorously shot down by Postecoglou.

Speaking to the media, Postecoglou said: "If you're going by social media then 99 per cent of them will [want Spurs to lose] but please don't tell me that's your world. If it is, you need counselling. I understand rivalry but I'll never understand anyone wanting their own team to lose."

The Spurs boss added: "You think the majority of our fans are not going to want us to win? I don't see it that way. I think the majority will create the atmosphere they always create because we've got a game of football to try and win."

Indeed Gunners fans are hyped up for the game thanks to Man City's poor record against Spurs, especially away from home. In 19 matches against the London team, Guardiola's side have only taken nine wins.

Postecoglou's side will play host to City on Tuesday, May 14 and will likely have fans all around the world watching on as the game could play a pivotal part in how the season is remembered historically.
