Bio: From an early age football was all I cared about, and so I was desperate to try and write about it. I’ve developed other interests as I’ve gotten older, of course, but my love for the world’s most popular sport hasn’t dwindled. I mostly report on men’s and women’s club football, though I also cover international tournaments as well. I’ve had the fortune of covering the beautiful game for a number of different organisations, from several press boxes, and long may that continue.

My Football Story: As a child I spent all of my money on football. Whether it was packs of trading cards hoping to get that elusive shiny I needed, or miniature football figures and discarding the chocolate that came with them. I used to collect half-and-half scarves as well. Yes, I know, I know, but they were not just any scarves, they were special half-and-half scarves featuring teams competing in the old UEFA Cup. Well, they were special to me anyway!

Areas of Expertise:

• Premier League, English Football League, WSL, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga

• Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Super Cup

• World Cup, European Championship

My Favourite Footballing Memory: Marcell Jansen retiring at the age of just 29 after being released by Hamburg in 2015. He could have carried on playing, earning a good salary, but he didn’t want to represent another club after Hamburg.

My All-Time XI: Gianluigi Buffon; Stephan Lichtsteiner, Ricardo Carvalho, Paolo Maldini, Leighton Baines; Andrea Pirlo, Marcos Senna; Dusan Tadic, Kaka, Morten Gamst Pedersen; Antonio Di Natale

  4. Parker stuns Arsenal with last-gasp sucker punch

Arsenal passed up the chance to go top of the Women’s Super League table as they fell to a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Frida Maanum scored her third league goal of 2025-26 as the Gunners looked destined to climb to the summit, but substitute Lucy Parker netted late on to secure a deserved point for the visitors.

  5. Beever-Jones keeps Chelsea perfect as Kerr gets more minutes

In-form striker Aggie Beever-Jones scored again as Chelsea made it three wins from three with a tight 1-0 victory over Leicester City in the Women’s Super League on Sunday. The Blues forward maintained her perfect record of scoring in every WSL game so far this season with a well-taken finish against Rick Passmoor’s Foxes, who played well for large periods but lacked killer instinct in the final third.

  1. Saka returns to Arsenal training ahead of Man City clash

Bukayo Saka is in contention to feature in Arsenal’s heavyweight clash with Manchester City on Sunday after returning to first-team training ahead of the game. The forward has missed the Gunners last three fixtures in all competitions against Liverpool, Nottingham Forest and Athletic Club after picking up a hamstring injury in his side’s 5-0 Premier League victory over Leeds on August 23.

  2. Mourinho reveals Portugal ambition after Benfica return

Jose Mourinho has revealed he always expected to return to Portugal at some point in his managerial career, but the Special One thought it would be in charge of the national team and not his new club Benfica. The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United boss returned to his homeland after being appointed as the Primeira Liga giants' new manager on a two-year contract on Thursday.

  3. Maresca explains why Garnacho did not face Man Utd

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has dismissed suggestions he avoided bringing on Alejandro Garnacho in Saturday's defeat against Manchester United because the winger was being jeered by his former club. The Argentina international was met with a chorus of boos as he prepared to lock horns with United, only for Blues boss Maresca to decide to bring on both Tyrique George and Malo Gusto instead.

  4. Amorim: Fernandes 'deserves to be in Man Utd history'

Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has paid tribute to Bruno Fernandes, saying the midfielder "deserves to be in the history of the club" as he continues to act as his side's talisman in their hour of need. 5. Palmer sub in Man Utd loss explained as new info revealed

Enzo Maresca has revealed Cole Palmer was substituted in Chelsea's 2-1 defeat against Manchester United on Saturday due to a recurrence of the groin injury which has plagued his season. The 23-year-old had to be replaced just 20 minutes into the Blues' loss at Old Trafford, raising questions over whether the same issue which saw the forward miss his side's Premier League clashes with West Ham and Fulham had flared up.

  6. Tottenham 1-5 Man City

Casparij thrives as Man City thump in-form Spurs

  7. Former PL star credits Onana for leaving Man Utd

Former Chelsea and Cameroon utility man Geremi has backed compatriot Andre Onana’s decision to leave Manchester United and join Trabzonspor. The goalkeeper joined the Turkish Super Lig side on a season-long loan in September, bringing a temporary end to his struggles at Old Trafford. Onana’s future had been uncertain all summer as United chased a new goalkeeper in the transfer window, eventually signing Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.
