AC Milan are in the middle of a significant squad overhaul under Ruben Amorim, with the Portuguese coach making clear who fits his project and who does not. The signing of Belgian winger Diego Moreira from Strasbourg, confirmed as the club's fourth summer addition alongside Gila, Gonçalo Ramos and Diawara, signals Amorim's offensive vision. At nearly 70 million euros in total investment, the move also carries a pointed message for Rafael Leao. Amorim has stated publicly that Leao does not have a guaranteed starting place, and with super agent Jorge Mendes in Milan to accelerate talks, a departure before the September 1 deadline looks increasingly likely. Galatasaray and a Saudi club have made offers, while the Chelsea option remains distant.

On the outgoing side, the picture is equally busy. Tijjani Reijnders completed a move to Al-Qadsiah via Manchester City, while Samuele Ricci is close to joining Como on loan. Andrej Kostic has also been sent out on loan after failing to convince Amorim during pre-season. Samuel Chukwueze, by contrast, has emerged as an unexpected asset, impressing the coach with his performances in a new role during the 4-2 friendly win over Manchester United on August 15.

The transfer window remains open and Milan are still active. A deal to sell Santiago Gimenez to Porto has stalled over fee disagreements, while links to Torino winger Alessio Cacciamani add further intrigue. Serie A begins on August 23 with a trip to Torino, giving Amorim his first competitive test with a squad still taking shape.
