Wilfred Ndidi proud to win Leicester City award

Wilfred Ndidi has expressed his joy after winning Leicester City Young Player of the Year award for the 2017-18 season.

The Nigeria international has been consistent for the King Power Stadium outfit this term featuring in 38 games across all competitions. He played a crucial role to help the Foxes’ stability in the Premier League log and is currently the best tackler in the division with 138 successful tackles.

The 21-year-old beat off competitions from Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray to nick the prize for the second time since his arrival at the club in 2017.

Reacting to the recognition on LTCV, Ndidi said: “I feel great. It’s a proud moment for me. I’m very happy about it.”

“Kudos to the fans for their support. They have been fantastic since I came here.

“We have had a lot of ups and downs this season but it’s good that we are safe.”

The midfielder will not be in action when Leicester play host to West Ham United on Saturday owing to a hamstring injury.
