Tab Ramos' side will open the tournament May 22 against Ecuador in Incheon before facing Senegal at the same venue three days later. The U.S. U-20s will close the group stage versus Saudi Arabia on May 28 in Daejeon, with the knockout stage set for May 30 to June 11.

The U.S. qualified for the tournament earlier this month by winning CONCACAF's U-20 championship. Runner-up Honduras and semifinalists Mexico and Costa Rica also qualified from the region.

"We are proud to have earned a group top seed for the 2017 U-20 World Cup," Ramos said in a news release. "As CONCACAF champions and 2015 U-20 World Cup quarterfinalists, we have put ourselves in a great position for this tournament. Our youth national team program has been on an upward trend and we need to continue to push forward in Korea Republic.

"This was a difficult draw, but we are ready for the challenge. Our plan is to treat each game like a final, so our preparation now shifts to Ecuador."

CONCACAF rival Mexico was drawn into Group B, with Venezuela, Germany and Vanuatu.
