The Covert Agent: Bruno Fornaroli dropped by Melbourne City coach Warren Joyce

All appears not well at the Manchester City-owned club, with the star striker dropped ahead of this weekend's match against the Roar

Bruno Fornaroli has been dropped by Melbourne City coach Warren Joyce ahead of Saturday night's clash against Brisbane Roar at Suncorp Stadium.

The Covert Agent can reveal Fornaroli hasn't travelled to Brisbane with the rest of the squad and despite possible denials from the club, the Uruguayan attacker is 100 percent fit.

The absence of Fornaroli leaves Joyce and Melbourne City short of striking options - with foreign attacker Michael O'Halloran likely not to return until the turn of the year.

It's believed Joyce will push Riley McGree further forward alongside fellow young talents Lachlan Wales and Nathaniel Atkinson, while Dario Vidosic could also be an option.

There have been several interesting selection decisions at Melbourne City over the past few weeks including the omissions of Luke Brattan and Anthony Caceres.

Brattan has returned to the squad for this weekend's match while Caceres is still absent.
