Raja Casablanca coach Juan Carlos Garrido not getting carried away by AS Vita win

Raja Casablanca coach Juan Carlos Garrido has refused to get carried away by the Caf Confederation Cup final 3-0 home win over AS Vita.

Soufiane Rahimi struck a brace and Mahmoud Benhalib weighed in with the third goal to hand advantage to Raja, who are now preparing to visit Vita for Sunday’s second leg in Kinshasa.

Despite what seems to be a commanding lead, Garrido insists they are yet to be crowned champions and the return fixture is an entirely a different match that should be taken seriously.

“I think I will talk about the collective play today,” Garrido said during the post-match conference.

“We had a good match. The team played very well. Everybody played very well. Everybody did his job the best possible today. Like I said before, today is one match and the upcoming leg is another match entirely.

“We need to concentrate on the next match. That match is going to be huge. Today, this match is over. As from tomorrow we have to start preparing for the return leg, which is the final. That match is definite.”

The Spaniard is also bidding to write his own piece of history by becoming the first ever coach to win the Confederation Cup with two clubs after also bagging it with Al Ahly four seasons ago.
