Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is relishing playing with so many of his club-mates on England duty.

Calum Chambers, Kieran Gibbs, Danny Welbeck and Jack Wilshere all featured alongside Oxlade-Chamberlain as the Three Lions defeated minnows San Marino 5-0 at Wembley on Thursday evening.

With Theo Walcott yet to return from injury, England could soon field as many as six Arsenal players in one match and Oxlade-Chamberlain feels that having a core of Arsenal players at international level can only be positive for Roy Hodgson and Arsene Wenger.

“Being at Arsenal I’ve felt that [English] presence around our dressing room and to be able to come away with England with so many of your team-mates is a really nice feeling,” he told reporters.

“I think it’s really good for England and I think it’s nice for Arsenal as a club and the fans and we’ve still got Theo Walcott to come back. We can’t count him out because I’m sure he’ll be back in the squad.”

Chambers made his full international debut in the comfortable victory and later expressed his delight at playing the full 90 minutes.

"I really enjoyed it," Chambers said.

"It's an honour for me to play for my country and especially get a start, and we put in a performance and got a win, which is good.

"The first half they were tough to break down and it was a bit frustrating but we kept doing the things we wanted to do and eventually it paid off and we got the goals we wanted.”
