Neymar channels his inner superhero with Batman and Spider-Man tattoos

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar is considered to be a superhero to many and has channelled that superstar standing with the latest additions to his tattoo collection.

The Brazil international has been back in the studio having two giant inkings of Batman and Spider-Man etched onto his body.

Neymar had the work done during a recent visit to Sao Paulo, with artist Thieres Paim doing the honours.

He posted the design on social media, stating: "As everyone knows, Neymar is a fan of the characters Spider-Man and Batman. Today I had the pleasure of tattooing them on his skin!"

While clearly a fan of the DC and Marvel stars, Neymar is now a comic book hero in his own right.

Back in September, the 26-year-old saw his likeness used in a new graphic novel called ‘Inked: Art Animates Life’.

That publication follows a character called Junior as he uses magical tattoos to save his sister from the clutches of a criminal cartel with ties to the supernatural.

Neymar played no role in the writing process, but is delighted to have been the inspiration.

He told Business Wire : "Like many kids, I had two dreams growing up, to be a professional footballer and a superhero. I've been blessed enough to play football at the highest level.

"Now I have the chance to bring new, modern, powerful storytelling through comics and graphic novels to fans around the world."

Neymar is also the star of a new video game.

‘Match MVP Neymar Jr’ was also launched in September, giving fans around the world the opportunity to try and emulate the meteoric rise of their idol in simulation form.
