The Malaysian FA (FAM) Status Committee has instructed Kelantan to pay a total of around RM 190,000 (around USD 44,553.88) it owes to its former personnel.

In a statement dated June 1, the committee found that the Red Warriors owe unpaid wages to two former players; Tuan Muhamad Faim Bin Tuan Zainal Abidin (RM9,000) and Faizal Bin Abu Bakar (RM44,000), current squad member Khairul Izuan Rosli (RM77,486.87), as well as former head coach Velizar Popov (USD 14,000, or around RM 59,703).

Faim is now a free agent after leaving Kelantan at the end of the 2016 season, Faizal has joined Negeri Sembilan beginning the start of the season, while Popov now manages Sisaket FC in Thai League T1.

According to the committee's ruling, the Kelantan FA (KAFA) has 14 days to settle all the arrears.

The Red Warriors are currently embroiled in a transfer embargo, and are deep in debt to their former players. They are reportedly going to be meeting M-League organiser Football Malaysia LLP (FMLL) on Monday.

Apart from Kelantan, Premier League side PKNP FC have also been instructed to pay the wages it owes to two of its former players. According to the statement, the club has terminated their contracts without mutual consent.

The Ipoh-based side has been instructed to pay Amirul Asraf Noor RM72,000, and Hafizuddin Bin Harun RM60,000. However, the claim of another former player; Afiq Amsyar A. Salamat was rejected by the committee, with no reason specified.

PKNP too have been given 24 days to settle the payments.
